Ghana’s economy grows by 3.8% in October 2025 — GSS
Ghana’s economy recorded a 3.8 per cent growth in October 2025, up from 3.0 per cent during the same period in 2024, according to the Monthly Indicator of Economic Growth (MIEG) released by the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS).
The report, published on January 14, 2026, indicates a year-on-year improvement in economic activity, reflecting increased production of goods and services across the economy.
Speaking on the figures, Government Statistician, Dr. Alhassan Iddrisu, explained that the growth shows the economy performed better in October 2025 compared to the previous year.
“In simple terms, the economy produced more goods and services this October than it did one year ago,” he noted.
The MIEG serves as a high-frequency indicator designed to provide timely insights into the performance and direction of Ghana’s economy, complementing quarterly and annual Gross Domestic Product (GDP) data.
The Ghana Statistical Service said the latest figures underscore signs of gradual economic recovery, amid ongoing efforts to stabilise and grow the economy.
