Ghana Horticulture Expo

Ghana’s burgeoning horticulture sector will take the global spotlight this month as the Ghana Horticulture Expo 2025 kicks off from June 11–13 at the Accra International Conference Centre.

Themed “Innovate, Transform, Sustain: Driving Growth in Ghana’s Horticultural Sector,” the Expo is expected to bring together over 200 exhibitors and 3,000 trade visitors from across the globe.

The event, jointly organised by the Federation of Associations of Ghanaian Exporters (FAGE) and the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA), is being billed as more than a typical trade fair.

Organisers describe it as a bold national statement to reposition Ghana’s horticulture industry as a key driver of economic transformation, jobs, and climate-smart agribusiness.

The Expo will be officially opened by President John Dramani Mahama, whose attendance signals strong government backing for the initiative.

The President is expected to speak on the strategic role of agribusiness in building a 24-hour economy and creating sustainable livelihoods, especially for the youth and women.

In a pre-event briefing, Mr. Davies Narh Korboe, President of FAGE, described the Expo as a defining moment for Ghana’s export agenda.

“The Ghana Horticulture Expo is not just an event—it is a vision materialised,” Mr. Korboe said.

“It reflects our deep resolve to transition Ghana from a raw produce exporter into a value-added, globally competitive horticulture powerhouse.”

The Expo will feature a wide range of activities, including:

Business-to-business (B2B) matchmaking sessions with international buyers

High-level policy roundtables and expert panel discussions

Export readiness training sessions for emerging exporters

Special showcases of women and youth-led agribusinesses

Climate-smart agriculture innovations and technology exhibitions

The event aims to address structural challenges in the horticulture value chain while opening doors to new global markets for Ghana’s fruits, vegetables, tubers, herbs, and value-added products.

At the heart of the Expo is a message of resilience, innovation, and economic renewal.

It tells the story of how Ghana is leveraging agriculture to fight poverty, boost employment, and empower smallholder farmers, especially women and youth, through sustainable export growth.

Organisers are urging exporters, buyers, investors, policymakers, academics, and technology providers to participate and contribute to shaping the future of Africa’s green economy.

“We are showcasing more than just products,” Mr. Korboe added.

“We are showcasing the future of Ghana’s economy—one that is inclusive, sustainable, and export-ready, operating around the clock.”

The Ghana Horticulture Expo 2025 is set to be a landmark event on the African agribusiness calendar, offering a front-row seat to the continent’s green transformation.
