MTN Ghana to pay ¢2.316bn as dividend to shareholders
MTN Ghana (MTNGH) is set to distribute a total dividend of GH¢2.316 billion to its shareholders for the financial year 2023.
The Board of MTN Ghana has proposed a gross final dividend of GH¢0.175 per share for the period ending December 31, 2023, pending approval by shareholders.
The dividend payout pertains to the 13,236,175,050 ordinary shares in circulation as of the declaration date.
Shareholders utilizing electronic banking services or mobile money wallets will receive their dividends through electronic transfers.
According to MTN Ghana's Annual Report 2023, shareholders registered with Scancom PLC as of the close of business on Thursday, March 28, 2024, will qualify for the final dividend.
The ex-dividend date is scheduled for March 26, 2024.
Investors purchasing MTNGH shares before this date will be eligible for the final dividend, whereas those acquiring shares on or after March 26, 2024, will not be entitled to the dividend.
In 2023, MTN Ghana recorded a profit of GH¢3.98 billion, marking a significant 39.4% growth compared to the previous year, as indicated in its audited 2023 Financial Report.
