Otokunor tours Asiedu Nketiah’s Bouna Farms, highlights agribusiness potential
The Director of Agribusiness Development at the Presidency, Dr Peter Boamah Otokunor, has paid a working visit to Bouna Farms at Degedege in the Tain District, a facility owned by Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, the National Chairman of the governing National Democratic Congress.
The visit, which took place a few days ago, underscored growing interest in large-scale agribusiness development and the role of experienced industry players in mentoring the next generation of agricultural entrepreneurs.
Bouna Farms, which has been developed, equipped, and stocked by Heamp Agro Limited, is noted for its focus on livestock production, particularly pig farming.
During the tour, Dr. Otokunor commended the operational standards of the farm, highlighting the importance of commitment, dedication, and consistency in achieving efficiency at the farm level.
Mr. Asiedu Nketiah, widely known as “Chairman General,” was praised for his hands-on approach and innovative management style, which observers say has contributed to the farm’s success.
The visit also brought renewed attention to pig farming as a viable and profitable agribusiness venture, especially for individuals willing to invest the necessary passion and discipline.
According to him, such initiatives are critical to advancing Ghana’s agricultural sector, promoting food security, and creating employment opportunities across rural communities.
