TOR to appoint Asante Berko as CEO
An investment banker, Asante K. Berko, is expected to be appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Tema Oil Refinery.
His appointment will come barely a week after Mr Ato Morrison became the acting CEO of the state oil refinery.
An investment banker with a wealth of experience from reputable global financial institutions including Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse, Barclays among others, Mr Berko is expected to turn around the dwindling fortunes of TOR.
Former MP, Isaac Osei resigned from the Tema Oil Refinery as Managing Director in December.
The former Subin legislator and flag bearer-aspirant of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) announced his resignation to the staff of TOR and an end-of-year gathering.
“This session is going to be my last time,” he told the staff at the party, adding: “I know that with unity, this company can move forward with the support of the new Managing Director”.
