Haniya Rosemond ‘Akuapem Poloo’ Alade Brown has revealed she was contracted to smash the windscreen of a Benz recently, which made news.

She spoke on Accra 100.5 FM’s Ayekoo Ayekoo hosted by Nana Romeo.

Firstly, she noted: “Since day one, since 2018, people have known me for creating controversies” for business, insisting, however, “people who know me well know” these things do not reflect her true character in real life.

Poloo explained the windscreen she smashed belonged to “a musician” called Theo Versace, adding, “Theo’s wife, Marian, is my best friend and since I came to Accra, I’ve worked with her”.

She said Theo contacted her about creating “a controversy” to draw attention to a new song of his.

“When he asked me to break his Benz’s windscreen, I got scared because even the driving mirrors of a Benz are expensive but he told me I should break it and he’ll buy a replacement, and the day I broke it, he bought [a new one] the same day," she narrated.

Akuapem Poloo reminded her audience, “I’m an actress, I’m a drama queen and in acting, we see people breaking windscreens and other things but we don’t think that’s who they are [in real life]. So it’s part of my act, it’s all acting”.

She was confident Theo Versace would not be angered to learn she had informed the public about their stunt, adding the disclosure would benefit the artiste “because now people will know I didn’t destroy his windscreen because he abused me or he cheated on his wife with me”.

Poloo noted she was paid for her service and the act successfully drew attention to the song.

The social media star also revealed her Muslim brothers and sisters “got worried” seeing the video on the internet but they calmed down when she explained herself to them.

“Since I converted [to Islam] two years ago, I’ve been cool with no negative news so when this came out, firstly, they said they had seen me and Theo at a restaurant eating during the fasting period [of Ramadan]. So the Muslim community was so worried but I explained myself to those I had to and showed them chats between me and the guy that it was all planned. Also, the time we went to eat, it was between 8:30 and 9PM and we had broken the fast,” she explained.
