BET has announced plans to air the “BET AWARDS” 2020 on DStv channel 129 and GOtv channel 121 on Sunday, 28 June 2020 from midnight.

As BET celebrates its 40th-anniversary and 20th-anniversary since the awards scheme began, the show is expected to celebrate the brightest stars across music, television, film, sports, and philanthropy, using innovative techniques and artist-generated content.

A statement issued by Multichoice Ghana stated that the show will allow the audience to join a celebration of black love, joy, pride, and power with an all-star lineup taking to TV’s biggest stage.

Also, this year’s show will continue the rich history of providing fans with those special, not-to-be-missed moments.

According to the President of BET, Scott Mills, “The BET Awards are a seminal event, the biggest celebration of Black culture, Black accomplishment, Black excellence, and Black potential,” adding: “Our community, and the many millions who love the Black culture, look to the BET Awards for signature moments of enrichment, entertainment and empowerment.”

Speaking on the measures BET has taken to ensure the health and safety of all participants this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the EVP Specials, Music Programming & Music Strategy, Connie Orlando, said, “At BET, we place the health and safety of attendees, staff, vendors, and partners first, which is why the biggest night in black entertainment will go on implementing this innovative production direction.”

Due to the current global health crisis and pandemic of COVID-19, BET’s three-day event that leads up to the “BET Awards,” the BET Experience, will not take place as scheduled between June 25 – 27.
