Ghanaian actress Akuapem Poloo has cautioned the youth, especially young women, against posing nude on social media.

The actress was speaking in an interview with Nana Romeo on Accra100.5FM’s Ayeeko Ayeeko show on Wednesday, 11 November 2020.

Akuapem Poloo, who wept during the interview, revealed that she was now a changed person and has given her life to Christ.

She advised the youth against emulating her past lifestyle of nudity.

The actress said: “As a woman, your glory is your nudity”.

“The fact that a man sees a woman who is dressed in a way that exposes her nudity and feels like he wants to have her in his bed, doesn’t mean he wants to marry her.

“Most men who do that go and marry a different lady who dresses decently. That’s why I keep saying that our destinies are different; maybe God knows my heart and knows that, perhaps, a certain force was behind my nudity.”

She added that she has stopped posing nude on social media.

“If you go to my social media handles, you’ll realise that I no longer post nude pictures of myself. For the past seven months, I haven’t exposed my body on social media. That should tell them that I’m a changed person and I know whatever I was doing was wrong”, she said.

“Exposing your body, posing with panties and in the nude, all that is not good, it won’t take you anywhere and if you want to be seen as a responsible woman, exposing your body will not let any man respect you”, she added.

“Any youth listening to me knows what I’m saying is true, just that we’re all eager to get to the top,” the actress stated.

The actress, whose real name is Rosemond Brown, has been charged for behaviour that diminishes the dignity and worth of another human being after she posted nude photographs of herself with her son on social media.

She has also been charged for engaging in domestic violence, conduct that in any way undermines another person’s privacy or integrity.

The court however admitted her to a bail bond of GHS100,000 with four sureties, two of which must be justified with landed property amounting to the bail.

The court also ordered that the title deed of the property be kept at the Registry of the Court.

The actress had earlier described the nude photos she posted of herself with her son to celebrate the boy’s birthday as an “artistic expression”.

She refuted assertions made by some persons and organisations that the photo was pornographic.

The actress, on Tuesday, 30 June 2020, posted a nude photograph of herself kneeling before her son, who was also wearing an underwear, to mark his 7th birthday celebration.

Akuapem Poloo wrote the following unedited comment along with the picture: “Son today reminds me of the very day I gave birth to you with no stress and with no regret...30th June 2013 exactly 4:46 am Sunday Haha I still remember this date paa because it's really meant a lot to me, I only felt the 30 minutes pain when you were turning to come out you were soo good to me. I gave birth with no complication, no cut no disability Haha I love you son. You see how you looking at me always remember that I love you. I'm naked in front of you because this is how naked I was giving birth to you, so in case you find me naked lying somewhere don't pass by me but rather see me as your mom who brought you to life.”

The photograph went viral on social media.
