Camidoh earns prestigious BET nomination
Ghana's Camidoh has received his first Black Entertainment Television (BET) award.
The Adoley hitmaker shared the news via his Twitter timeline, Thursday, June 8, 2023.
He attached an official flyer outlining the category for which he has been nominated: Viewer's Choice: Best International New Act.
He captioned the post with trophy and black heart emojis.
For the 2023 BET Best International New Act accolade, Camidoh, popular for his international smash hit Sugarcane Remix featuring Mayorkun, King Promise and Darkoo, is competing with Asake (Nigeria), Libianca (Cameroon), Pabi Cooper (South Africa), MC Ryan SP (Brazil), Flo (UK), Raye (UK), Maureen (France) and Werenoi (France).
Camidoh is the latest Ghanaian to be nominated by the BET. Prior, Black Sherif was nominated for the 2022 edition of the BET Hiphop Awards.
The last time a Ghanaian won a BET award was in 2019 when Sarkodie became the pioneering winner of the BET Best International Flow award, making him a two-time BET wielder.
Meanwhile, last Friday, June 2, Camidoh released a 15-track mixtape titled L.I.T.A.
