Charlie Dior on moneymaking; 'Ghanaian celebrities pay to appear on my show'
“Believe it or not, some of the celebrities pay to be featured on my show,” fashion critic and vlogger Charlie Dior has revealed.
When questioned, he specified these included Ghanaian celebrities.
“Some want to trend. They spend so much on these outfits and appear on the red carpet but no one talks about them. So they come to me, I [take] a little fee, and promote them on my show,” he further explained.
Charlie Dior sat with Nana Romeo on Accra 100.5 FM’s Ayekoo Ayekoo.
He was discussing how he makes money.
“YouTube pays me, and I charge for advertisement on my show,” he indicated.
The social media influencer underlined due to “being very influential in New York, where I live,” he is frequently invited to make paid appearances.
Charlie Dior said he earned from working with Safo Entertainment, which he noted was responsible for booking and handling US visa protocols for Ghanaian stars like Black Sherif and Stonebwoy to perform in the States.
“I also style people,” he added. “I style everyday people for occasions like birthdays.”
He bemoaned Ghanaian celebrities do not like to pay to be styled, however.
The YouTuber concluded by noting he had a 9-5 job but it allowed him to travel a lot – which he loved – because it permitted both remote and in-person working styles.
