Dansoman Circuit Court discharges Hopeson Adorye, as Empress Gifty expresses gratitude to President Mahama

The Dansoman Circuit Court in the Greater Accra Region has formally discharged politician Hopeson Adorye from a case that was being prosecuted under the previous government.
The decision brings an end to the legal proceedings that had been ongoing against Mr. Adorye, though details of the discontinued case have not been disclosed by the court.
Following the discharge, Ghanaian gospel musician Empress Gifty took to social media to express her gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama, acknowledging what she described as his “decision to discontinue the case.”
“Thank you, Mr. President Mahama, for discontinuing the case,” she wrote, celebrating the court’s ruling as a relief for her husband.
The development has drawn public attention, marking a significant legal and political turn for Mr. Adorye, who has been a prominent figure in national politics.
Officials from the court and the Attorney-General’s Department have yet to issue a formal statement clarifying the reasons behind the withdrawal of the case.
