John Setor Dumelo has said he is experiencing one of the hardest times in his life as he pens his mother’s eulogy.

On social media on August 16, 2023, the actor, farmer and politician announced that his mother, Antoinette Ama Ampomah Dumelo, had left for the ancestors’.

“My heart is broken,” John wrote on Facebook. “My dear mother passed away peacefully yesterday… my number one supporter. Heaven has gained an angel.”

Mrs Antoinette Ama Ampomah Dumelo was a retired customs officer. It is reported she marked her 70th birth anniversary last year.

John Dumelo, 39, mourned his mother three days after the National Democratic Congress (NDC) declared him, for the second time, the official parliamentary candidate for the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency in the Greater Accra Region, going into the 2024 general elections.

On October 3, 2023, he wrote on X: “Writing a tribute to my mum is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do…”

The cause of Mrs Antoinette Ama Ampomah Dumelo’s demise is not known to the public.
