Epixode celebrates 'father', inspiration Tinny
Reggae/Dancehall artiste Epixode, born Theophilus Nii Arday Otoo, has noted the huge influence rap star Tinny, born Nii Addo Quaynor, has had on him.
He said they first met “through Loso [Ranking],” adding Tinny granted him a collaboration even though he was “a young artiste who didn’t have a big break”.
Thereafter, Epixode explained, their relationship grew to the point he became Tinny’s “boy”.
The creative director clarified the Osu-born Tinny did not teach him “much directly” but he “learnt so much” from him “when it comes to stagecraft”.
The award-winning singer-songwriter said his July 1, 2024, Facebook post, accompanied by Tinny’s picture, was “to say thank you for [being] a father” to him, and to give him his due praise and honour.
The occasional Highlife singer underlined their shared Ga heritage, and declared Ghana’s love for the rap legend.
Like Tinny, Epixode honed his music gift performing at school funfairs when he was very young.
