GTA Deputy CEO leads British High Commission delegation on courtesy visit to Aburihene

The Deputy Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), Mr. Gilbert Aggrey, on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer, led a delegation from the British High Commission in Accra to pay a courtesy call on His Royal Majesty Otoobour Djan Kwasi II, Aburihene and Adonten Division Head of the Akuapem Traditional Area.

Mr. Aggrey conveyed warm greetings from the Ghana Tourism Authority and the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, while humbly informing His Majesty of the forthcoming visit of a distinguished Very, Very Important Person (VVIP) from the United Kingdom.

The British High Commission delegation was led by Mr. Ryan Wilson, Head of Communications, and included Ms. Gisel Agyare, Head of Trade and Investment; Ms. Victoria Situ, Forests & Climate Advisor; and Ms. Abigail Foatey, Communications Manager.

They were joined by Miss Lawrencia Dziwornu, Member of Parliament for Akwapim South, in a fruitful engagement that celebrated partnership, diplomacy, and cultural respect — strengthening ties between Ghana and the United Kingdom in the areas of tourism development, heritage preservation, and cultural exchange.

Discussions centred on enhancing collaboration to promote the Akuapem area as a key heritage and eco-tourism destination, reflecting the shared vision of both nations to foster sustainable tourism and mutual cultural understanding.

 

The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to deepen cooperation and celebrate the enduring relationship between Ghana and the United Kingdom, rooted in shared values of respect, heritage, and development.
