Ghana Party in the Park's new date is Aug 12

Ghana Party in the Park (GPITP) has announced a new date for its feverishly anticipated 2023 edition.

Initially slated for July 15, the event was called off due to a weather warning respecting that weekend.

Weather maps showed the United Kingdom was surrounded by looming rain, with the Met Office cautioning that large areas of the UK could be hit by thunderstorms and heavy rainfall. 

In view of this, the GPITP team informed eagar patrons of the necessary postponement of the event.

Today, Friday, July 28, the organisers of the summer staple have announced August 12 as the new date for the event which will take place at Trent Park, London.  

The eight-hour event, organised by Ghanaian international marketing communications company Akwaaba UK, will host an array of star music performers local to the UK and Ghana. There will also be food, art display, business exhibitions, among others.

On Saturday, April 22, in collaboration with the British High Commission in Ghana, the Dennis Tawiah-led Akwaaba UK launched the 2023 Party in the Park and Expo Ghana. A colourful evening's ceremony, it happened at the residence of the British High Commissioner in Accra.

Expo Ghana was officially commissioned in 2022 as a platform to bridge businesses in Ghana and the Diaspora, fostering patronage and creating opportunities for entrepreneurs. 

Present at the event were the British High Commissioner to Ghana, H.E. Harriet Thompson; the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Mark Okraku-Mantey; Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotions Centre (GIPC), Yofi Grant; Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Free Zones Authority, Ambassador Michael Oquaye Jr; and Alex Dadey, Executive Chairman of KGL Group & Board Chairman, GIPC.

In a press briefing on Monday, 19 June, the Ghana Party in the Park team unveiled Tema-based superstar R2Bees as the headliner for the festival's 19th edition. Supporting are: VVIP, Samini, Medikal, Mr Drew, Cina Soul, Quamina MP and others.
