Ghana’s Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has reaffirmed her country’s commitment to deepening cultural cooperation with Burkina Faso during a courtesy call by the Burkinabe Ambassador to Ghana.

Minister Gomashie expressed appreciation for the strong bilateral relations between the two countries and clarified that her absence at a previous cultural event was due to unavoidable official engagements, although Ghana was duly represented.

During the meeting, Mr David Kabré, Ambassador of Burkina Faso to Ghana, invited Ghana to participate in two major upcoming cultural events in Burkina Faso: the National Culture Week scheduled for April 25 to May 2, 2026, and the 18th International Art and Craft Fair of Ouagadougou from October 30 to November 8, 2026.

He also announced a planned visit by Burkina Faso’s Culture Minister to Ghana to further strengthen bilateral cooperation.

Present at the discussions were Ghana’s Deputy Minister, Yussif Issaka Jajah; Chief Director Joseph K. Amoah; Director for Tourism Geoffrey Tamakloe; Director for Human Resource Management Otto Langmagne; and Director for Culture and Creative Arts Divine Owusu-Ansah.

The meeting highlighted the mutual commitment of both nations to promote cultural exchange, enhance creative arts collaboration, and foster stronger people-to-people connections between Ghana and Burkina Faso.
