Jada Pinkett Smith responds to Will Smith slap at Oscars

Jada Pinkett Smith has officially responded to the viral coverage of her husband Will Smith slapping comedian Chris Rock at the 94th Academy Awards.
In a brief message on Instagram, the actress and host of Red Table Talk shared her thoughts after a joke was made about her by Rock while he was presenting the award for “Best Documentary” at the 2022 Oscars.
“This is a season for healing and I’m here for it,” her post read on Tuesday (Mar. 29).
“Jada, I love ya. G.I. Jane 2. Can’t wait to see it,” Rock, who said on the stage at the Dolby Theater. Following his joke, Will Smith walked onto the stage and slapped the comedian.
He later took his seat and told Rock to “keep my wife’s name out your f***king mouth.”
On Monday evening (Mar. 28) Will issued a public apology to Chris Rock and The Academy for the incident on his Instagram.
“I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris,” the Oscar-winning King Richard actor said. “I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be.”
