Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Highly Spiritual record label Kaywa, born David Kwadwo Kyei, has lost his mother.

The celebrated record producer announced the news via his verified Instagram (IG) account, today, Friday, March 31, 2023.

Incidentally, today is Kaywa's birthday.

"Rest in perfect peace mum [heart emoji]," he prayed in his post, his mothers photo attached.

"You chose the day you gave birth to me to go," he noted. "I wish my loved ones will post you instead of me, because you're the reason for my existence. It is truly your day."

A pastor, Kaywa indicated that the service Friday night at Tema Community 11 organised in his honour, with Joyce Blessing, MOG music and Sisi Baidoo billed to perform, will instead be dedicated to his mother.

"Tonight at church, we will celebrate you," he said. "I’m truly grateful… Love you dearly."

Musicians who have shared their condolences under the IG post include Sarkodie, Mr Drew, Luigi Maclean, Guru NKZ, MzVee, DopeNation.
