Know the meanings of the Adinkrah symbols on President Mahama's ‘Agbada’ at the inauguration

At 66, President Mahama took the Oath of Office and raised the glimmering State Sword—a potent emblem of authority and leadership—to thunderous applause from the jubilant crowd.
While the ceremonial moment captivated the audience, it was his attire that sparked conversations both at the venue and online during the sunny mid-morning event.
The President donned an immaculate white ‘Agbada,’ a flowing robe traditionally worn in West Africa.
Popularised by the Yoruba people of Nigeria, the Agbada comprises an inner garment paired with traditional trousers, exuding elegance and cultural pride.
The outfit was more than a fashion statement; it symbolized unity, heritage, and the dignity befitting the leader of the nation.
