Nacee has stated his desire to see former President John Dramani Mahama back in the Golden Jubilee House.

The Gospel star expressed confidence in Mahama making good on every promise in the 2024 National Democratic Congress (NDC) Manifesto, unveiled on Saturday, August 24.

He indicated his certainty stemmed from witnessing Mahama in power before 2016 and what he did then.

After a spirited performance at the aforementioned event in Winneba, Central region, the singer-songwriter and record producer spoke to ChannelOne TV.

"I believe he can do it because when President Mahama was on the seat, he did a couple of things and he has done those things before," he said.

While other singers have clarified being seen with or performing at events organised political figures say nothing of their political inclination, Nacee is among a growing number of celebrities to make an open and bold declaration of their political conviction.

The Aseda hitmaker composed and performed popular NDC campaign songs like E Dey Be, Onaapo and Mahama Okada.

The 2024 NDC Manifesto states taxes like the e-levy and betting levy will be abolished once Mahama resumes presidential duties. The manifesto also expatiated on Mahama’s 24-hour economic policy for Ghana. Among other things, it again promised the restoration of the licences of banks unjustly collapsed by the current Akufo-Addo-led administration during the banking cleanup exercise.

For the creative arts industry, the NDC has mentioned the creation and promotion of a year-long Black Star Experience as Ghana’s flagship tourism, arts and culture brand. The party aims to revive the Creative Arts Fund to provide continued financial support for SMEs in the creative arts industry. NDC seeks to greatly improve royalty collection in Ghana, as it also works to enforce broadcasting, digital and local content provision to project local productions. Among other things, the NDC, also, aims to support content creators to promote Ghanaian culture and foster national cohesion and pride, while drawing tourists to the storied West African country.

Mahama’s running mate is his former Education Minister Prof Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang. His ultimate contender is the Vice President and flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
