Bukom Banku, born Braimah Isaac Kamoko, has expressed profound support for Michael N. Y. Annan’s aspirations to represent the Odododiodio constituency in the Greater Accra Region.

The decorated boxer was with sit-in Akua Sonto on Ayekoo Ayekoo on Accra 100.5 FM, when he was asked if he had ever considered being an MP, given his fame and likeability in the community.

“Becoming an MP for Odododiodio?” Banku asked in astonishment, quickly exclaiming: “My! I’m sacred of that.”

According to the boxer, he “cannot handle” the constituents of Odododiodio.

Amid belly laughter, he begged to be left out of a conversation to represent Odododiodio in parliament.

Sonto asked what the challenge was.

“Odododiodio [people] will insult me so much I will lose sleep,” he explained. “They have such sharp tongues, that community!”

The occasional comedian turned his attention to the aspirants in the constituency.

He pointed out that “there are three people vying” for the parliamentary seat “over there” at Odododiodio, namely: Michael Nii Yarboi Annan, Ashie Kotey, Okai Laryea.

He expressed his support for financial analyst and opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) MP aspirant Michael Yarboi Annan, whom he hailed as “don”.

“If don wins, it’s good. I am solidly behind don because he’s helped the community and its people,” Banku explained.

“He loves the youth, he’s done things for the betterment of the youth, he was an NPP member and now is with the NDC. People love him. They know him already. He’s a good man for the nation,” Banku hailed.

“I beg Odododiodio to vote for him,” he concluded.
