Release Bulldog: Menzgold customers to NIB
Aggrieved customers of defunct gold dealership firm Menzgold are calling on the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) to release artiste manager Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson popularly known as Bulldog in the showbiz industry following his comments made on Accra-based UTV on 9th January, 2021 in relation to Menzgold saga.
Bulldog was allegedly arrested over threats that President Akufo-Addo will not complete his second term if he is unable to pay Menzgold customers.
“…As for the money, it will come. Like Nana Addo will run. He’ll not finish his second term, I’m telling you, ein no go finish ein 4 years,” he said.
Reacting to the arrest, the customers of Menzgold noted in a statement that they are mesmerized by the action of NIB for the swift manner in which Bulldog was picked up.
The customers said although Bulldog could have expressed his opinion and frustration on the Menzgold matter in a different way, “we roundly condemn the Gestapo style in which the entertainment icon was arrested.”
“We are of the opinion his comments borne out of many months of leadership neglect of the menzgold issue which has resulted in over 80 lives lost should have drawn the compassion of leadership of the country and not an arrest and detention,” the statement added.
They are calling on the NIB to immediately release the artiste manager from their custody to “enable us all continue to enjoy the peace and tranquility prevailing.”
