The Accra Circuit Court 4 on Tuesday, 9 November 2021 ordered the Police to release the mobile phones of dancehall artiste Shatta Wale and his three accomplices.

The court ordered the release of the phones which were confiscated by the police when the dancehall artiste and his accomplices were arrested.

Counsel for the dancehall artiste and the three other persons, Jerry Avenorgbo who prayed the court to release the mobile phones of his clients, indicated that as an entertainment personality, his clients depends mainly on the use of their mobile phones.

Thus, the confiscation of the phones by the Police was hindering their survival.

He further argued that, the Police going through phones would result in a breach of their privacy as all information needed for investigations are available on social media.

Meanwhile, the Prosecutor, Chief Inspector Dennis Terkpetey disclosed that the Police are searching for a suspect who is on the run.

He noted that the suspect’s arrest could change the facts of the case as new information has emerged with regards to the case and prayed the court for more time to allow his team to file its documents.

The case has since been adjourned to Tuesday, 7 December 2021.

The dancehall artiste Shatta Wale and his three accomplices were involved in a hoax shooting incident.
