In multiple social media posts, Charles Nii Armah Mensah, alias Shatta Wale, has expressed profound excitement over the news of Vybz Kartel's release from prison.

"I knew this day will come," Shatta Wale intially wrote on Facebook. "Welcome home [Father] of all."

"We [are] free," he added, chanting Kartel's nickname "Gazaaaaa".

The self-acclaimed King of African Dancehall hailed the Jamaican Dancehall icon Vybz Kartel, Adidja Azim Palmer, as "my teacher," indicating "I can now go to Jamaica in peace".

He prayed "Psalm 35," saying it had "manifested for my king".

Shatta Wale underlined Vybz Kartel's message to the youth right after he walked out of prison: "Tell the youth to stay out of crime, it's not worth it, it's a waste of life and time, brother."

"Best advice of 2024," the Ghanaian singer and record producer exclaimed, attaching the video of Kartel speaking.

Next, he posted his 2016 song championing the release of Vybz Kartel: Free Up Di Gaza.

He later wrote, "Tears of joy #Gaza," advertising a brand new song "recorded yesterday," to commemorate the moment, TIME: Tears In My Eyes.

Stating, "it's Gaza time," calling Vybz Kartel "Unstoppable Gaza," and noting his recent hit On God in further celebration, Shatta Wale announced he was returning to X, formerly Twitter, "because of Vybz Kartel... The joy is too much for me #Gazaaaa".

On August 1, Vybz Kartel was reported freed from prison.

Kartel, 48, was accused of killing one Clive 'Lizard' Williams in Jamaica. Having been in prison for 13 years, he never let go of his claim of innocence. In March 2024, his conviction was overturned by UK judges (Privy Council, London). On July 31, Jamaican authorities, having had time to consider his retrial decided the case was not returning to court, proclaiming an ailing Kartel, and his co-accused Shawn Campbell, Kahira Jones and Andre St John free to walk.

The Summer Time hitmaker was sentenced to life in prison.

Meanwhile, London's Privy Council serves as the highest court of appeal in Jamaica and other countries of the Commonwealth.
