Shatta Wale kneels, seeks pardon from Hogbetsotso show sponsor
Controversial Reggae/Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has apologised to the sponsor of the Hogbgetsotso Festival for his breaching their contract and failing to perform.
In a 'RonnieIsEverywhere' video making rounds on social media, Shatta Wale can be seen in the company of media executive Bola Ray asking for forgiveness from the officials of the sponsor of the said event.
In a scene, Shatta Wale rose and attempted to drop to his knees before the Executive Director of Total Family Health Organisation and brand owner of Ebony Condoms, Joseph Addo-Yobo, to say sorry and show remorse.
Mr Addo-Yobo stopped him before both knees touched the ground, however. He then asked the 'On God' hitmaker to desist from the action and resume his seat after hugging him in a very hearty way.
Wale also went to hug an unidentified woman who noted to him that the purpose of the meeting was not for his going down on his knees.
On Tuesday, November 8, 2022, Shatta Wale in his typical stormy demeanour came on social media to register his displeasure and to explain why he did not appear on stage at the Hogbetsotso Beach Rave, Tegbi, Volta Region, even though, according to the organisers, he had come to the event venue in the rented vehicles they had secured for him and his team.
The self-acclaimed African Dancehall King said he was disrespected by the organisers.
Explaining, he said contrary to his explicit agreement with the event organisers, he was driven to a radio station for an interview.
Protesting, he said, the organisers threatened to hold back his accommodation if he did not do the interview.
Consequently, he took off.
Disappointed patrons at the event, reacting to the absence of the headline act, reportedly pelted the organisers with stones and damaged their equipment.
