Shatta Wale has declared he is "home" and "safe".

He spoke via a social media video, following his release after detention by the Economic & Organised Crime Office (EOCO) on Wednesday, August 20, 2025.

Earlier, EOCO said his bail was set at GHS10 million but later reduced it to GHS5 million, maintaining the two surities.

Shatta Wale was detained as part of investigations into a 2019 Lamborghini Urus, which is allegedly linked to proceeds from a US$4 million crime activity in the United States.

According to EOCO, even though Wale said he bought the car for US$150,000, he could not provide documentation to prove ownership, nor could he identify the seller of the luxury vehicle.

Today, Thursday, August 21, fans of the Dancehall artiste swamped the premises of EOCO in solidarising and demanding his release.

"Shatta is safe, your king is safe, 1Don is safe, and I'm home now, and I just want to say a big thank you for supporting and for being around me in times like this because I needed you guys the most and you guys are the once that hold me down," he said in his selfie-video.

The On God hitmaker gave a special mention to "Nii Original 1Don, who has been a father to me, and been very supportive to me as well".

Charles Nii Armah 'Shatta Wale' Mensah noted "all the staff of EOCO, you guys have been wonderful" taking him "through the rightful processes [that were] needed and I just want to say God bless you".

To the EOCO boss, "Mr Raymond Archer," the singer and record producer said, "I just want to thank you so much for your understanding."
