Spotify: Kamala Harris' playlist features Sarkodie, Black Sherif, Amaarae, Kuami Eugene

US Vice President Kamala Harris met several Ghanaian music stars today, March 27, 2023.
The meet-and-greet happened at Vibrate Space, East Legon, Accra, Ghana, and present were music acts such as Joey B, Black Sherif, Amaarae, Ria Boss, Poetra Asantewa, M3nsa and others.
After the meeting, she tweeted a playlist of songs by some of the artistes she met and more.
“I am releasing a playlist featuring the artists from my travels across Ghana, Tanzania, and Zambia, including many of the Ghanaian and Ghanaian-American artists I met today like @blacksherif_ and @amaarae,” she wrote.
The playlist is titled 'My Travels: Ghana, Tanzania & Zambia'.
The blurb Ms Harris provided stated the purpose of the 1 hour 22 minute playlist.
"A playlist to amplify the artists and sounds from my travels in Ghana, Tanzania and Zambia," she said.
The songs by Ghanaians on the playlist from are Black Sherif's 'Kwaku the Traveller', Sarkodie's 'Countryside' featuring Black Sherif, Amaarae's 'Reckless & Sweet', Herman Suede's 'Kumbaya', Moliy's 'Ghana Bop', Ria Boss's 'Call Up', Moses Sumney's 'Me In 20 Years' and Kuami Eugene & Rotimi's 'Cryptocurrency'.
American actress of Jamaican descent Sheryl Lee Ralph and British actor of Ghanaian descent Idris Elba were also present.
At the private event, she touted the bilateral relationship between Ghana and America and expressed appreciation for the works of Ghanaian creatives.
She also noted that culture and creative industries are immensely influencing the world.
Vice President Kamala Harris arrived in Ghana, Sunday, March 26, to begin her 9-day tour in Africa. From the West African country, she flies off to Tanzania and Zambia.
According to an official statement, Ms Harris' trip is purposed to “build on” the December 2022 US-Africa Leaders Summit in Washington where President Joe Biden said the US was “all in on Africa’s future.”
