Stop plagiarising our songs – Daughters
Veteran gospel group Daughters of Glorious Jesus has issued a stern warning to people and music groups to desist from plagiarising their songs.
The gospel trio said they will deal ruthlessly with people who steal their songs and do renditions.
The multiple award-winning group told journalists in Accra on 11 January 2020 said: “We've seen on YouTube countless times how some people deliberately take our songs and do renditions without seeking permission from us. We have been quiet for some time now but not anymore; we are prepared to deal with anyone who takes our songs and does whatever they want with them."
“Most of the time, the lyrics in those renditions are wrong and others also sing the songs so badly. If you think writing songs is that simple, why don’t you write your own songs?” Daughters quizzed.
As part of their 2020 agenda, the trio will embark on a nationwide tour.
The group is currently promoting their new song titled ‘Y'aseda Dwom’.
