'Yeni Abre': FRA! insists nothing but action will end #SayNoToGalamsey protests

The band FRA! has emphasised on their X timeline that nothing but a decisive and effective end to illegal mining (galamsey) will satisfy anti-galamsey protesters.
"Nothing you'll say will change our minds because we're terribly serious," the decorated Ghanaian international band declared through a snippet of their protest song Yeni Abre (We're Serious) shared on X, Thursday, October 3, 2024.
Attached to the said snippet was a flyer showing solidarity with the three-day protest organised by Concerned Citizens Against Galamsey, started on Thursday.
FRA! captioned the post: "Enough is enough! #SayNoToGalamsey #FreeTheCitizens".
In another post, the You Dey Feel the Vibe hitmakers declared: "End galamsey now."
"Only a heart of iron destroys our land for gold," FRA!, also, admonished. "Access to clean water is not a privilege! End Galamsey now!"
The Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) has warned if galamsey is not checked, potable water supply will be a thing of the past. Ghana could soon be importing water for production of local medicine if the pollution of its water bodies were not controlled immediately, according to the Pharmaceutical Society.
FRA! releases their first extended play (EP) on Friday, October 11. The four-track tape is titled after a track, We Go Make Am. See the cover art for the project here.
