You’re not God: I’ll not beg to eat; my brand'II keep soaring – Lil Win to detractors
The situation of some veteran Ghanaian celebrities and some on-screen celebrities begging to survive in retirement has pushed Kwadwo Nkansah, a popular Kumawood actor and comedian cum musician, to warn his colleagues who seek his downfall in the industry that he will not beg to eat.
According to him, he has taken prudent measures to secure his retirement.
“I just don’t know why people in the industry all the time seek my downfall”, he wondered in reference to his colleagues who are hell-bent on bad-mouthing his brand and seeing him fail
Lil Win, as he is popularly known, made the comment on Accra100.5FM’s ‘Ayekoo Ayekoo’ mid-morning show on Accra100.5FM to unveil his latest song ‘Pepper Me’.
“In spite of all these setbacks in the industry from my own colleagues, the brand Lil Win is soaring”, he said.
“I don’t walk around with a bodyguard to protect me”, he added, saying: “I know my life is in the hand of God”.
He revealed that “my colleagues have called me names like arrogant, disrespectful, and an occultist among others in the industry”, explaining: “‘My own friend, Big Akwes, mounted a platform and rained all manner of insults on me when I have not hurt him”.
“I have survived all these damages to the brand Lil Win because I have a clean heart and respect everybody who comes my way”, he told Nana Romeo.
He added: “I have survived all manner of attacks from colleagues for the past six years but I will continue to soldier on”.
“Nobody can stop the brand Lil Win except God”, he said.
