GIPC board chairman pays homage to Togbe Afede XIV during Asogli Te Za festival
The Board Chairman of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), Mr. Akwasi Opong-Fosu, has paid homage to the Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State, Togbe Afede XIV, during his sitting in state as part of the 2025 Asogli Te Za (Yam Festival) celebrations in Ho, the Volta Regional capital.
The courtesy visit formed part of the grand durbar activities, which brought together traditional leaders, government officials, investors, and citizens to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of the Asogli people.
Mr. Opong-Fosu’s homage symbolised respect, unity, and collaboration between traditional authority and national institutions in advancing Ghana’s development agenda.
He commended Togbe Afede for his visionary leadership and his continuous efforts in promoting peace, progress, and cultural pride within the Volta Region and beyond.
The colourful ceremony highlighted the beauty of Ewe tradition and the spirit of national cohesion, as participants reflected on the need for collective effort in building a just, peaceful, and prosperous nation.
The Asogli Te Za (Yam Festival), celebrated annually in the Volta Regional capital, Ho, continues to serve as a symbol of gratitude, cultural pride, and unity among the Ewe people.
