A/R: Anti-galamsey taskforce seizes excavators, generators, motorbikes, guns along Pra River

The Regional Anti-galamsey taskforce, comprising National Security, Police, Mineral Commission and Environmental Protection Agency have conducted operations at New Ebudiase along the Pra River.
According to the Ashanti Regional Minister Frank Amoakohene, the taskforce "seized 7 excavators, demobolized 5 excavators, 2 generators, 2 motor bikes, pump action guns and other mining equipment".
Writing on Facebook, March 20, 2025, he revealed the "seized items were brought to the RCC".
He emphasised the government's position on illegal mining (galamsey), noting, "Our Position is simple: 1. Stay off the forest, 2. Stay off the River Bodies, 3. No to roadside mining, 4. Cover your pits when mining on your concession, 5. The Government is ready to assist all who want to mine responsibly, 6. Zero Tolerance to Irresponsible mining."
