AIB-Ghana celebrates 5th anniversary with a milestone in aviation safety

The Aircraft Accident and Incident Investigation and Prevention Bureau (AIB-Ghana) has marked its fifth anniversary, with a call to strengthen aviation safety in Ghana.

Speaking at the launch, Deputy Minister of Transport, Madama Dorcas Affo-Toffey, emphasised the importance of independent accident investigation in preventing future accidents.

AIB-Ghana was established in 2020 as an independent institution to investigate aircraft accidents and incidents and promote safety in Ghana's aviation sector.

The Bureau has made significant progress, conducting investigations and making safety recommendations to improve aviation safety.

Ag. Commissioner of AIB-Ghana, Mr. John M.K. Wumborti, highlighted the Bureau's achievements, including its contribution to regional aviation safety improvement and global safety data sharing.

He emphasised the need for continued investment in modern investigation tools and technologies to enhance safety.

The Ministry of Transport has pledged its commitment to supporting AIB-Ghana's efforts to promote aviation safety, emphasising the importance of transparency, accountability, and just culture in accident investigation.
