Akufo-Addo, Bawumia led by ‘a wise chief enriches himself’ principle – Martin Amidu

The first and former Special Prosecutor Martin Amidu has explained why he does not support Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign to become president on the ticket of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).
In a December 3, 2024, article, Amidu ESQ said he was once reliably informed that one of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s guiding principles was captured in a traditional saying that goes – in English – “A chief who ascends a stool and does not get rich, would be said to be a foolish old man”.
“Nana Akufo-Addo actualized his guiding principles during his eight-year tenure of office with Bawumia and still wants more of those governing principles to continue by choosing to anoint his Vice-President and poodle as successor through their long game of election rigging for the succession,” the former Attorney Justice and Minister of Justice said.
Amidu, also, greatly lamented Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia had departed from the selflessness and patriotism his late father Alhaji Mumuni Bawumia demonstrated in his political career, favouring his mentor Akufo-Addo’s “create loot and share principle”.
Underlining his “responsibility as a constitutional activist” was “to inform the electorate of the facts to enable them to make an informed choice of the next President of Ghana,” Martin Amidu pointed to the New Patriotic Party (NDC) flagbearer and former President John Dramani Mahama as the best person to led Ghana given current circumstances.
