Beware of calls from ‘fake bankers’ to link Ghana card and account – EOCO
The Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) has advised members of the public to beware of calls purporting to be from their bankers as part of the measures to link their Ghana card to their bank accounts.
According to EOCO, fraudulent messages are being sent to unsuspecting customers of banks asking them to click on a hyperlink to update their Ghana card details to their accounts.
EOCO sent this alert in a statement signed by the Head of Public Affairs, Faustine Lartey dated June 30, 2022, in Accra.
The statement said the fraudsters request from the unsuspecting public their Mobile App PIN, account numbers, mobile numbers and One Time Password for their activities.
EOCO has, thus, cautioned the public that no bank will ask for your password, PIN or OTP.
