CID boss engages school authorities over violent clash in Central Region
The Director-General of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Lydia Yaako Donkor, has met with the management of Swedru School of Business and Obrachire Senior High Technical School following a recent violent incident involving students of the two institutions.
The meeting was convened amid growing public concern over the incident, which has drawn widespread attention.
COP Donkor called for calm and full cooperation from school authorities as the Police move to address the matter comprehensively.
During the engagement, management of Swedru School of Business was directed to produce the students allegedly involved within 24 hours to assist with investigations.
She noted that compliance with the directive would ensure the swift and thorough handling of the case.
The CID Director-General underscored the gravity of the violence and warned of the potential legal consequences for those found culpable.
She confirmed that formal investigations have commenced to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and identify all individuals connected to it.
She further disclosed that the victim involved in the incident is currently receiving medical treatment.
COP Donkor reaffirmed the commitment of the Ghana Police Service to ensuring accountability, maintaining law and order, and safeguarding safety within educational institutions across the country.
