'Corruption killing Ghana; resist oppressor's rule': Ghanaians in UK chant in London version of #OccupyJulorbiHouse protest

A group of placard-wielding Ghanaians in the UK converged on the Ghana High Commission in London on Friday, 29 September 2023, to convey their disdain of and disappointment with the Akufo-Addo government.
They expressed their anger at the government back home for its handling of the country’s affairs.
One of them, who amplified the crowd's anger via a microphone, said although she is from a family of New Patriotic Party members, she found it annoying that a party that, in her view, has failed the people, would be trumpeting a 'breaking the 8' slogan.
Some of the placards read: 'Arise Ghana Youth,' 'Corruption is killing Ghana,' and 'Resist oppressor’s rule,' among others.
A protester was heard yelling at High Commissioner Papa Owusu Ankomah, as he made his way to his car, "You should be ashamed of yourself".
Mr Owusu Ankomah was captured on video smiling at the protesters while walking to his car, as another male protester is heard saying: "We came to meet you. Sir, talk to us before you leave".
The three-day Accra version took place from 21 to 23 September 2023.
Some 49 protesters as well as a BBC reporter and his cameraman, were arrested but later released.
The police barricaded the entrace to the Jubilee House to prevent the protesters from gaining access to the seat of the presidency.
