Dr Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed to be buried tomorrow Thurs Aug 7
Funeral arrangements have been announced for the late Dr Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, in accordance with Islamic tradition.
Dr Murtala Mohammed, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Tamale Central and Minister for Environment, Science & Technology, was aboard a Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) Z9 helicopter which took off from Accra to Obuasi on Wednesday morning, August 6, 2025.
Initially reported missing, by the GAF, the aircraft was later identified after it crashed and burned, killing all eight occupants.
Government has noted all flags are to fly half-mast.
Dr Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed will be buried tomorrow, August 7.

All are called to converge at the Anbariya Islamic Institute Nyanshegu at 10:00 am for Janaza prayer and then move to Zujung cemetery for burial.
