E/R: Police restore calm at Boadua
The Ghana Police Service (GPS) has announced that the Eastern South Rcgional Police Command has "swiftly managed to restore calm in a Chicftaincy dispute that might have escalated in the entire Boadua Community".
On Saturday, December 14, 2025, GPS said they received complaints from thc Bretuo Abusuapanin of Boadua that a group of people from the Boadua Aduana Family went to the Boadua Chiefs palace and caused damage to the main entrance and forcibly entered to destroy the shrine in an attempt to take over the palace from the Bretuo family.
On reccipt of the complaints, police said they quickly went and restored order at the palace.
Meanwhile, eight suspects including Baffour Kwame Agyei, Kwabena Twum Baffour Kwame Annor, Baffour Kofi Dankwa, Maxwell Frimpong, Eric Dankwah Nana Kwaku Frimpong, Baffour Kwasi Ampaabeng, and Baffour Yaw Anya were arrested to assist investigation.
The suspects have been granted police enquiry bail and will be arraigned on Thursday, December 18, 2025.
