Late Obaa Yaa Afrifa
The family of Obaa Yaa Afrifa, wife of former Head of State Lt. Gen. Akwasi Amankwah Afrifa, has formally notified former President John Agyekum Kufuor of her passing and funeral plans.
Obaa Yaa Afrifa, born in 1934, passed away at the age of 91 in December 2025.
Her funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, January 24, 2026, at the Teshie–Nungua United Church.
The announcement marks a solemn moment for the family and the nation, as they prepare to honour the life and legacy of the late Obaa Yaa Afrifa.
