Faulty equipment at Mallam substation caused Sunday dumsor – GRIDCo
The Ghana Grid Company Ltd (GRIDCo) has informed the public that on Sunday, March 3, 2024, "due to a fault" on an equipment at the Mallam substation which occurred at 20:38hrs, power supply to some customers in the western part of Accra, Winneba and Takoradi, was interrupted.
The power transmitter said its engineers "quickly isolated the faulted equipment for further investigation".
In a statement signed by Corporate Communications Manager Dzifa Bampoe, GRIDCo said restoration of supply to the affected customers started "immediately".
"As at 22:30hrs, power supply to most of the affected customers had been restored," the statement said.
It added that for areas without power supply, the engineers "are working tirelessly" to restore power once the faulted equipment is fixed.
GRIDCo "sincerely" apologised to all customers who were affected by the power supply interruption.
