The District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) currently underway in the Ga East Municipality has moved into the Abokobi Electoral Area, with grading and compacting works commencing early Monday morning around the Municipal Office in the capital, Abokobi.
The Assembly Member for Abokobi, Hon. Vida Tangwam, expressed deep appreciation to the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Edmund Agboh, for extending the rehabilitation exercise to the area.
She noted that the intervention will significantly improve access and ease transportation challenges on some of the area’s most deplorable roads.
According to her, the reshaping works will cover several routes, including Assembly Top, Abokobi–Ogyaba–Sesemi main and inner roads, Zion City area, Agbogba Junction to the refuse site (Borla), Abokobi–Pantang Village, Abokobi–Teiman, Residence road, Adansi, Boi–Elim, and Kponkpo community roads.
The Municipal DRIP Coordinator, Mr. Seth Agboyie, commended the progress of the project so far and encouraged the Assembly Member to use the exercise as an opportunity to demonstrate commitment to the development of Abokobi.
He praised her work ethic, describing her as dedicated and capable.
Guidance for the road works is being provided by the Municipal Roads Engineer, Mr. Daniel Kofi Okyere, who continues to supervise the implementation of the DRIP activities.
The exercise is scheduled to run for one week, from Monday, 8th December to Friday, 12th December 2025, and is expected to improve mobility, community access, and local economic activity within the Abokobi Electoral Area.
