GA/R: Fire outbreak hits Chorkor-Obeweku neighbourhood
A devastating fire outbreak struck Chorkor Obeweku in the Greater Accra Region this midnight, leaving a trail of destruction and chaos..
The fire, which was believed to have started at about 2:00 AM, ripped through three buildings, including a church, causing widespread damage and forcing residents to flee for safety.
According to an eyewitness who was sleeping inside the church building, explained that the fire started in a tailoring shop. Unfortunately for the shop, there was a gas cylinder inside which exploded and caused the fire to spread to other buildings around it, including the church close by.
Firefighters were called, so while they were on their way, the people around started pouring water on the fire till the firefighters arrived and started to turn it off.
The response from the emergency service has been swift and effective, with firefighters working tirelessly to contain the blaze and provide support to those affected.
The cause of the fire remains unknown; the incident is a stark reminder of the importance of fire safety and the need for vigilance in our daily lives .
As the investigation into the cause of the fire outbreak continues, the community will come together to build and recover.
