The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has assured airline operators, aviation stakeholders, and the travelling public that air traffic services will continue uninterrupted despite a planned industrial action by the Ghana Air Traffic Safety Electronics Association (GhATSEA).

In a press release issued in Accra, the Authority confirmed that it has activated “comprehensive contingency measures” to safeguard the safe, reliable, and secure provision of air traffic services across the Accra Flight Information Region (FIR).

The assurance comes ahead of GhATSEA’s proposed industrial action scheduled for Thursday, October 30, 2025.

According to the GCAA, management has already developed and implemented a CNS/ATM Systems Contingency Plan to maintain operational continuity and prevent disruptions to both domestic and international flights.

“The contingency plan outlines detailed operational procedures, designated response teams, and robust coordination mechanisms designed to uphold aviation safety and service integrity during the period of the industrial action,” the Authority stated.

The GCAA urged all stakeholders, airlines, and the travelling public to remain calm and confident in the measures put in place. It further emphasised its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of air navigation service delivery while prioritising safety and security within Ghana’s airspace.

The statement also reiterated the Authority’s ongoing commitment to staff welfare and human capacity development, underscoring that these remain central to GCAA’s operational philosophy.

The GCAA concluded by reaffirming that all necessary steps have been taken to ensure that flights within Ghana’s airspace remain safe, secure, and uninterrupted throughout the period of the planned industrial action.
