In a coordinated effort early this morning, the Ghana Navy, backed by the Ghana Air Force, launched an extensive search‑and‑rescue operation at 35 nautical miles off the Senya Bereku coast in Ghana’s Central Region.

The operation began at dawn following reports of an attack on several fishing vessels operating in the general area, prompting immediate military intervention to locate and assist any affected crews or damaged boats.

The Ghana Armed Forces confirmed that the mission is ongoing in a statement signed by the Acting Director of Public Relations, Veronica Adzo Arhin

The statement added that the team, which involves naval and aerial units are scanning the specified maritime zone for survivors, assessing vessel damage, and securing the waters.

Authorities have appealed to the public to remain calm while investigations into the attack continue, and they assured that further updates on casualties, rescue findings, and security measures will be communicated as the operation progresses.
