President John Dramani Mahama has received a “comprehensive” report from the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) team led by Chairperson Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.

He said the report would lead to appropriate investigations and prosecutions, with the recovered monies returned into state coffers for national development.

President Mahama declared under his leadership, Ghana would reward honesty and hard work, and cease to be a safe place for corrupt individuals.

“The recommendations of the report will be carefully studied and where legal action and investigations are warranted, they will be pursued without fear or favour. Every pesewa recovered will be channeled back into national development, and mechanisms will be strengthened to prevent such loses in the future,” he said.

“I have promptly handed the report to the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, and I gave him firm instructions to commence immediate investigations into the cases reported in here with the view to prosecuting anyone found liable for corruption or related offences,” he revealed.

The sixth president of the fourth republic warned, “To those who think they can defraud the state and escape justice, let this serve as a strong warning. Ghana is no longer a safe haven for corruption. To those who stand for integrity, accountability and the rule of law, I assure you this government remains your steadfast partner in building a nation where honesty and hard work are rewarded.

“Ladies and gentlemen, this is a defining moment in our fight against corruption. We must all play our part, citizens, civil society, the media, and public officials alike. Together, we'll build a Ghana that is just, transparent and prosperous for generations to come.”
