Ghana launches aviation security week to boost safety culture
Ghana has launched its Aviation Security Week, emphasising the importance of a strong security culture in the aviation industry.
Minister of Transport, Mr. Joseph Bukari Nikpe, highlighted that aviation security is a shared responsibility, urging all stakeholders to work together to ensure safe and secure travel.
The launch of the Ghana Airport Company Limited's Security Culture Week aligns with global aviation security initiatives, particularly those of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).
Ghana has implemented advanced passenger information and passenger name record systems to enhance security.
GACL's Managing Director, Mrs. Yvonne Nana Afriyie Opare, emphasised the need for continuous innovation and collective responsibility in safeguarding the aviation environment.
The event's theme, "Promoting a Strong Dynamic Security Culture," underscores the importance of embedding security into daily processes and practices.
Ghana has made significant strides in aviation security, with recognition from ICAO for its efforts.
The country continues to invest in aviation infrastructure to support growth and safety.
