Hajj agents urged to channel concerns through Ministry for better coordination — Ahmed Ibrahim
The Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Ibrahim, has called on the Hajj Agents Association to route all pilgrimage-related concerns through the Ministry to ensure due process, transparency, and effective coordination ahead of Hajj 2026.
Speaking at a meeting with the Association in Accra, the Minister emphasised the need to raise standards within the sector, cautioning agents against practices that compromise the integrity of the pilgrimage process.
He specifically called for an end to the sale of protocol tickets and urged agents to uphold professionalism in their dealings with prospective pilgrims.
Mr. Ahmed Ibrahim also proposed regular monthly engagements between the Hajj Board and the Agents Association to strengthen collaboration and address emerging issues promptly.
He assured the agents that all concerns and recommendations discussed would be reviewed and subsequently forwarded to President John Dramani Mahama as part of efforts to ensure a smoother and better-organised Hajj in 2026.
The meeting forms part of the Ministry’s broader initiative to reform and streamline Ghana’s Hajj operations for improved service delivery to pilgrims.
