Krowor MP and Gender Minister provides cash support to victims of Nungua fire disaster
The Member of Parliament for Krowor Constituency and Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Dr Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, has presented cash assistance to victims of a recent fire outbreak at the Esther Bakery area in Nungua.
The donation, made on Thursday, June 4, 2026, forms part of efforts to support affected families as they recover from the devastating incident, which impacted 15 households and caused significant loss of property and livelihoods.
The cash support comes in addition to relief items that were distributed to the victims immediately after the fire incident.
Addressing the affected residents during the presentation, Dr Momo Lartey expressed her heartfelt sympathies to the victims and assured them of her continued support during this difficult period.
“Losing property and sources of livelihood under such circumstances is deeply painful. I stand in solidarity with every affected family and remain committed to supporting their recovery,” she stated.
The Krowor legislator also commended emergency responders and community members for their swift intervention, which helped contain the fire and prevent further destruction.
She reiterated her commitment to collaborating with relevant stakeholders to strengthen disaster response mechanisms, enhance preventive measures, and improve social protection support for residents affected by emergencies within the constituency.
The beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the assistance and appealed for continued support to help them rebuild their lives and businesses.
