MPs, dignitaries attend final funeral rites of Ayawaso East MP at National Mosque
Members of Parliament and other dignitaries have gathered at the National Mosque in Accra for the final funeral rites of the late Alhaji Naser Toure Mahama, Member of Parliament for Ayawaso East Constituency in the Greater Accra Region.
The solemn ceremony, held in accordance with Islamic traditions, drew colleagues from Parliament, government officials, party executives, family members, and sympathisers who came to pay their last respects to the late legislator.
Alhaji Naser Toure Mahama passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2026, after a short illness.
His death has plunged Parliament and the residents of the Ayawaso East Constituency into mourning.
The funeral prayers at the National Mosque were marked by tributes highlighting his dedication to public service, humility, and commitment to the development of his constituency and the nation.
Following the prayers, the late MP is expected to be laid to rest in line with Islamic customs.
Alhaji Naser Toure Mahama served as the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso East on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and was widely respected for his parliamentary contributions and constituency work.
